The Mensa Foundation's Scholarship program awards approximately $60,000 in scholarship aid each year. It takes about $20,000 to endow a perpetual scholarship of about $500 to $600.

Mensa in Georgia is actively involved in the Mensa Education and Research Foundation, Inc. (Mensa Foudation) Scholarship program. Currently the following Mensa in Georgia members and friends are active volunteers for the program:

Local Scholarship Chair: Mary Dwyer Wolfe, Ph.D.
National Scholarship Co-Chairs: Mary Dwyer Wolfe and Steve J. Wolfe

In 2006, Foundation Trustees and National Scholarship Co-Chairs won the President's Call to Service Award.

Mensa in Georgia Member, Gail McGrew, had donated funds to endow two additional

Region 5 awards and one national award. The regional awards are:
1.  In Honor of our Parents (Fruecht-McGrew) ($500) For a student in Reading Education, English Education, Special Education, or Gifted Education.
2. McGrew-Fruecht Scholarship ($500) For a student studing physics or chemistry or someone who has been out of formal education for a period of five or more years. 

The national award, which will begin in the 2008-2009 competition year:
3. Walt and Mary McGrew Scholarship for Veterans ($600).

Mensa member Bob Haley endowed a $500 scholarship to be awarded in Mensa in Georgia in memory of his brother and member of Mensa in Georgia, Jack Haley. All academic majors are eligible for this award. The best essay that does not win a national or regional award is the winner.

Additionally, funds from Georgia Gifted Students Scholarship Fund, Inc., award at least one more scholarship up to $1000 to an applicant the Mensa in Georgia area.

The Mensa Foundation awards a $300 to an applicant of the Mensa in Georgia area. Applicants are also considered for three $500 regional awards and several special national awards of $600 to $1000.
